Educational Grant
Each year the Chester County Board of Commissioners and the Chester County Agricultural Development Council (ADC) offer a $1,000 grant to a high school senior planning to pursue a major in an agriculturally related field at a four year institution. Students declaring majors in, but not limited to, agricultural science, agronomy, plant science, or animal science would be eligible to apply. Selection is based on scholastic achievement and extracurricular activities without regard to race, sex, religion or financial need.

Application requirements
- Fill out the application and mail it, along with the information requested herein, to the address on the application.
- Include a current transcript showing the applicant’s grades and
SAT scores.
- Include two letters of recommendation. The recommendations must
be written by high school guidance counselors, high school teachers, and/or community leaders.
- The application must be postmarked on or before April 30.
Selection criteria
- The applicant must be a high school senior whose parent(s) or
guardian(s) live in Chester County.
- The applicant must plan to major in the field of agriculture or agriculture-related field at a four-year college or university on a
full-time basis.
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s record of scholastic achievement and extracurricular activities without regard to race,
sex, religion, or financial need.
- Personal interviews may be conducted.
- The Chester County Agricultural Development Council is solely responsible for selection the award recipient.
- The selection will be made on or around May 15.
Additional requirements for the grant recipient
- Recipient must respond with his/her acceptance of the grant, in writing, within two weeks of notification of the award.
- Before issuance of the monetary award, the ADC will require a copy
of the college or university’s letter of acceptance.
- The grant is non-renewable.
